The Checkout National FMCG Awards

in association with the Irish Daily Mail

The Checkout National FMCG Awards, held in association with the Irish Daily Mail, are designed to recognise best practice in sales, marketing, sponsorship and advertising. The Awards, which are being held for the first time this year, examine areas including new product development (NPD), best-in-class merchandising and sales support, innovation in advertising and marketing, and sponsorships by both retailers and suppliers.

The Awards will be judged in two ways. For supplier initiatives and evaluation of sales, marketing and new product launches, a panel of Ireland’s top retailers will work with Checkout. This panel will identify the most innovative and progressive suppliers, ranking them on areas such as retailer support, merchandising and the quality and success of promotional activity in driving sales. Meanwhile, Checkout will also be conducting research in the marketing, PR and advertising industries to establish who has stepped up to the plate and delivered true excellence in these areas in 2010.

The Categories being assessed at the Checkout National FMCG Awards include:
  • Branded Supplier of the Year (Food and Beverage)
  • Branded Supplier of the Year (Alcohol)
  • Branded Supplier of the Year (Non Food)
  • Private Label Supplier of the Year
  • Best Sales Team
  • Best merchandising/in-store Team
  • Best Logistics Provider/Third Party Distributor
  • Best Green Supplier/Most Eco Friendly Supplier
  • Best New Product Launch (for an FMCG product)
  • Best Advertising Campaign (for an FMCG product)
  • Most improved brand (sales, market share etc)
  • Best Sponsorship (by a brand or supplier)
  • Best Sponsorship (by a retail or symbol group)
  • Best advertising agency
  • Best Private Label range (Premium, Standard and Value)
  • Best Advertising Campaign (for a retailer or symbol group)
  • Best independent cash and carry
  • Most innovative retailer/symbol group
  • Best charitable initiative (by a supplier or retailer)
