Avonmore soup celebrated its 25th year of soup production this month. Its fresh soup range is developed at Glanbia’s Innovation Centre in Kilkenny.
It originally launched in 1991 with five flavours and has since expanded its varieties to 14. It’s production facility produces in excess of three million packs of Avonmore’s popular fresh soup annually.
In recent years Avonmore introduced the ‘Feel Good’ range for those looking for a healthy low calorie option. It also introduced its premium smooth soup in a tub format in response to 'evolving customer needs and tastes' making it ideal for convenient dining.
According to Barry Foley, Product Development Chef, Glanbia: “Irish consumers have a strong affinity with fresh soup and seek out products that taste great and are convenient to eat. We work very closely with our network of local suppliers to ensure only the best quality ingredients are used in making our soups here in Kilkenny. We constantly strive to deliver ‘a taste of homemade’ - delicious soups full of nourishing goodness in every spoonful.”
Avonmore currently employs 44 staff members at its Kilkenny facility.
