Colgate-Palmolive Appoints New CFO and Vice Chairman

Colgate-Palmolive Company has announced that Henning Jakobsen, currently Vice President and Corporate Controller, will succeed Dennis Hickey, as Chief Financial Officer. Hickey will assume the role of Vice Chairman.

Jakobsen, aged 57, has served as the group’s Vice President and Corporate Controller since October 2017. He first joined the company in 1989 and has held key financial positions for its European and North American business units, as well as General Manager assignments in Africa and Europe.

In 2006, he became Chief Financial Officer of Chr. Hansen, a Denmark-based multinational bioscience organisation, before rejoining Colgate in 2011.

Dennis Hickey, aged 69, has been with Colgate since 1977 and served as the CFO since 2011. In his time he has held a variety of senior financial leadership positions with Colgate across its European and North American businesses.

Prior to serving as the Company's CFO, Hickey was Vice President and Corporate Controller for 13 years.

Ian Cook, Colgate's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer said, "Colgate is enormously grateful for Dennis's astute business and financial leadership over four decades and pleased that he will assist with this transition, providing continued counsel to our senior team and the Board of Directors.

“We look forward to Henning's leadership as CFO, drawing on his deep knowledge of our business, and his proven track record of delivering results, shaping business strategy, and maintaining a sharp focus on business integrity."

Colgate recently announced that its first-quarter sales had ‘just met’ analysts’ estimates, as demand in emerging markets, including Latin America, was below its expectations, sending its shares down 3% in premarket trading.
