Pink Lady Introduces New Packaging For PinKids

Pink Lady has introduced new packaging for PinKids.

Referring to the apples Pink Lady said, the only difference between the two products is the smaller size gives younger children an adequate portion that fits perfectly with their hands and mouths.

'It is part of an anti-waste approach, one of Pink Lady Europe's strong commitments. It's PinKids's best season with 6,400 tonnes sold,' the company said.

Product Evolution

Ten years ago, with a view to optimising most of its production and reducing waste, Pink Lady Europe launched PinKids: the mini Pink Lady for children.

The perfect solution to make children want to eat a natural and healthy product, in line with the Pink Lady specifications.

Now, PinKids accounts for 3% of the Pink Lady quality production in Europe: 6,400 tonnes were sold in 17 countries during the 2020-2021 season, twice as much as in the last season.

As far as its main markets are concerned, the UK and Ireland are in the lead with 40% of volumes, followed by the Netherlands with 16%. Spain and France, two producing countries, are in 4th (11% of volumes) and 6th place (9% of volumes) respectively.

Today available in 50 retailers PinKids continues to grow and is in line with the commitments made by Pink Lady Europe in terms of sustainable development: in order to eliminate single-use plastic, trays are now made of 100% FSC-certified cardboard from sustainably managed forests and are 100% recyclable, the company said.

Moreover, this season, PinKids is rethinking its identity and enhancing its appeal to young people thanks to a new dynamic, straightforward and fun design created by WONDERFUL and Pink Lady Europe, it added.
