Aldi Opens Latest Project Fresh Store In Passage West, Cork
Aldi has opened its latest Project Fresh store in Passage West, Cork, creating up to 20 jobs in the process.
The discount retailers new Project Fresh store has a shop floor of 1,020 square metres, 82 free car park spaces and is fitted with wide aisles and hi-spec fixtures.
This will be Aldi’s 22nd store in Cork, bringing the total number of stores across Ireland to 132.
The new store is part of a €160 million euro investment by Aldi into its Irish network. The group has committed €100 million to add 20 new stores by the end of next year.
The Project Fresh alone will see €60 million go into upgrading the layout and design of all its stores.

Last year Aldi spent over €700 million with Irish producers, manufacturers and suppliers. Aldi also recently increased its support for small Irish suppliers by reducing its payment terms to 14 days for suppliers that transact up to €300k annually with Aldi.
An independent research survey recently found that Aldi’s prices are ‘particularly strong’ on fresh meat, fruit and vegetables when compared to other Irish retailers.
