Aldi Opens New 'Project Fresh' Store In Graiguenamanagh

With the opening of Aldi's latest “Project Fresh” store in Graiguenamanagh and has created 20 more jobs in the area.

Abbey Hall Committee members have joined in the opening day celebrations, where they were presented with their cheque in store.

The new store opening has had the presence of CllrPeter ‘Chap’ Cleere, the Mayor of Kilkenny, who, together with David Rossiter, Aldi’s Graiguenamanagh Store manager, welcomed the queue of customers.

"Our Swap and Save campaign launched in May and the goal of this campaign is to remind shoppers about the saving that can be generated by swapping their weekly shop to Aldi," said Rossiter.

"Aldi opening their doors this morning is a major boost for the area," added Cleere.

"Aldi coming to Graiguenamanagh will be a huge help to those who have to travel out of town to do their shopping, meaning that more money will stay in Graiguenamanagh, with shoppers in turn picking up extras in the town centre”.

Local Charity Support

It is Aldi's habit to engage with the local communities in which its units are established, donating surplus food daily to local charitable organisations as part of Aldi’s partnership with FoodCloud.

In its opening day, Aldi has already given a €5,000 donation to Graiguenamanagh Abbey Hall further underscores the company’s support for the local community.

Also, The company donated more than 29,000 meals to charity through FoodCloud, saving charities over €40,000.

The new store is the Aldi’s fourth store in Co. Kilkenny and contains a large shop floor spanning 1,140m², 93 free car parking spaces, wide aisles and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.
