BWG Foods Wholesale Division's XL retail group has opened its 200th store at The Glen in Cork city, wit approximately €170,000 has been invested in the new site by owners Ciaran Lynch and Tony Cowhig, together with brand owners and operators BWG Foods.
Originally a Greenfield site, XL The Glen, a 1,400 square feet premises, is located on Glen Avenue in Cork city and currently employs 10 people, with this number expected to rise in the run up to the busy Christmas period.
“Growing the brand in a stagnant market is something we don’t take for granted but we believe it is testament to the hard work of our XL retailers and the expertise and experience of the XL development team," said Managing Director of BWG Foods, Willie O’Byrne. XL was originally set up by the wholesale division of BWG Foods in 1997, and now boasts stores nationwide.
