Colgate-Palmolive Announces Strategic Management Changes

Colgate-Palmolive Company has announced a series of changes in its management structure.

Noel R. Wallace, 53, has been promoted to president and chief operating officer, responsible for all the company's operating units.

Wallace joined Colgate in 1987, and has plenty of experience in leading the company’s businesses, including its North and Latin America divisions, as well as its Mexico subsidiary.

He was most recently the chief operating officer, global innovation and growth at Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

Operating & Strategy Roles

P. Justin Skala, 58, has been appointed executive vice president, chief growth and strategy officer, leading all the company's commercial growth functions.

These include global marketing, customer development, technology and supply chain, as well as the company's sustainability efforts and its recently acquired professional skin care businesses.

Skala joined the company in 1982, climbing up the ladder until he successfully leading Colgate’s Asia, Latin America and North America divisions.

Both executives will report to Ian Cook who remains chairman and chief executive officer.

"Colgate is fortunate to have two executives of this caliber to assume the company's most senior operating and strategy roles," Cook said.

"Their demonstrated global success and long experience make them especially qualified to drive our strategies and results throughout the Colgate world."

In May, Colgate announced that Henning Jakobsen will succeed Dennis Hickey as chief financial officer, with Hickey assuming the role of vice chairman.
