Creme Egg No Longer Dairy Milk

Cadburys Ireland confirmed on Twitter today that their Creme Egg is no longer made from Dairy Milk chocolate. A spokesperson for the brand told angry Twitter users that they use a mix of milk chocolate blends instead.

The story broke when UK newspaper The Sun revealed that the manufacturers have stopped using Cadbury's Dairy Milk for the egg shell, and instead are using a "standard cocoa mix chocolate.

A spokesperson told the paper: "It's no longer Dairy Milk. It's similar, but not exactly Dairy Milk. We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we've used it this year."

Also adding that, "The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used."

The news has prompted anger across social networking sites.
