Dublin-based Flower Growers Supplies Aldi With Sunflowers

Rush Bulbs and Flowers, has secured a deal with Aldi Ireland to supply 110,000 Irish-grown sunflowers to its stores nationwide, over the next six weeks.

The recent partnership with the Rush-based family-run business 'is part of a nationwide initiative to promote locally-sourced fresh flowers in Aldi stores'.

Finbar McCarthy, Aldi Ireland’s Group Buying Director, said: “At Aldi, we are always looking to create strong and sustainable partnerships with local Irish suppliers."

Aldi recently re-launched its range of flowers under the banner of Bláthanna with an emphasis on 'fresh cut and Irish sourced blooms' and currently almost one third of the German retailers flower range is Irish grown.

McCarthy said that it now works with over 175 Irish flower suppliers across the country.
