Gala has announced the introduction of the new Hot and Healthier @ Gala offer, a deli sandwich range that allows customers to build a personalised sandwich while being calorie conscious.
According to John Ireland and Ben McGinn, Fresh Food Managers at Gala (pictured), “Busy lifestyles mean that lunch on the go is part of our daily routine. However, it’s not always easy to count the calorie cost of these manic meals and with healthy eating at the top of the national agenda, Gala wants to make it as easy as possible for its customers to make informed choices about their daily diet.
"We have launched this concept as a pilot programme in over 50 selected stores and plan to roll this out nationwide by the end of 2013.”
Customers can build their personalised, healthy sandwich in just three simple steps, choosing bread type, a selection of fillings and sauces. Gala stores will also offer calorie conscious customers a delicious Sandwich of the Day option for just €3.00 in participating stores.
