Iceland Set To Open First Store In Nenagh

Food retailer Iceland has announced today (20 November) that will open its 25th Irish store in Nenagh Retail Park today.

“We’ve been trading in Tipperary since June 2016 with our Clonmel store and are thrilled with the support from local customers," said Ron Metcalfe, managing director of Iceland Ireland.

"We look forward to welcoming customers to our new Nenagh store to showcase all that Iceland has to offer."

Samantha Walsh, Iceland Nenagh Store Manager said: "The whole team is looking forward to welcoming new customers and showing them what Iceland is all about – innovation, quality and great value.”

Revenue Increase

In July this year, Iceland Stores Ireland Ltd posted a 63% revenue increase to €49.23 million in the 12 months to the end of March, according to its most recent financial statement.

The directors of the company said the Iceland food retail business in Ireland continued to trade successfully and ‘further sites are being sought for the current year.'

Its expansion has boosted staff numbers to 369, including 345 in sales and 24 employed at its main office.

Aside from the new Tipperary store, the privately-owned retailer's outlets in the ROI include several in Dublin, as well as Ballincollig Co Cork, Co Carlow, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, Fermoy Co Cork, Co Galway, Letterkenny Co Donegal, Co Limerick, and Co Waterford.
