Did you know?... A Tesco car park in the UK has been resurfaced using the equivalent weight of 225,000 plastic carrier bags, saving over 900kgs of plastic from going to landfill. Working in partnership with MacRebur – the plastic road company – Tesco is the first UK supermarket to use recycled plastic to re-surface a store car park.

Did you know?... Procter & Gamble has applied to trademark acronyms common in textspeak including “LOL” and “WTF”. P&G registered the trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office in April. The newly branded products would be sold alongside well-known items such as Febreze, Fairy, and Mr. Clean. Alongside LOL and WTF, P&G has applied to trademark NBD (no big deal) and FML (f**k my life).

Did you know?... The £3.9 billion sale of Costa coffee to Coca-Cola began brewing when Whitbread's boss Alison Brittain crossed paths with the chief executive of the soft drinks giant at a conference in May. Brittain, who has led Costa-owner Whitbread since December 2015, didn't know James Quincey before the Microsoft CEO Summit in Seattle. "I hadn't met him before that," Brittain said on Friday. "It has been a very fast deal."

Did you know?... Finnish dairy company Valio will merge its Osuuskunta ItäMaito and Osuuskunta Maitosuomi milk procurement dairy co-operatives, and the new co-operative will become operational in September 2019. The co-operative will be called Osuuskunta Maitosuomi, headquartered in Lapinlahti, and Valio claims that the merger will allow the company to further develop services for its farmer-owners and distribute resources in a more efficient manner.
