Did You Know … Aldi is to sell jacuzzis as part of its Specialbuys in April? The ‘Spa Pool’ retails at €449.99 and has a capacity of 795 litres. The Specialbuys also include barbecues and patio heaters, among other items.

Did You Know … The Irish Whiskey Association invited two million whiskey lovers home for International Whiskey Day? The invitation marked the celebration which took place on the 27 March. Irish whiskey is currently the world’s fastest growing spirit and drives hundreds of thousands of tourists to the island each year.

Did You Know … An off-licence in Lurgan, Co Armagh has discontinued its ‘Buckfast Easter Eggs’? The eggs, which included a mini Buckfast bottle as well as Buckfast merchandise, were extremely popular with consumers. J Chandler & Co, who bottle and distribute the tonic wine, called in the Trading Standards to take action against the offer.

Did You Know … A ‘state-of-the-art’ Supervalu store has opened in Newry? The 5,500 square foot outlet is part of a £2 million investment in the area, and is operated by the Downey brothers who also run Supervalu HillStreet in Newry.

Did You Know … ‘Punk’ craft brewer BrewDog has caught some backlash on social media? The Scottish brewer sent its lawyers after a Birmingham pub for having the same name as its new spirit company, and has been reproached online for such a ‘corporate’ response. James Watt, cofounder of BrewDog, told Newstalk its lawyers “got a bit carried away” and apologised for the incident.
