The Lidl in Fortunestown which was attacked and looted during March’s billiard is due to reopen in August, according to the Irish Examiner.
The West Dublin store will open on 30 August with new features such as LED lighting, sensor controlled exterior sun blinds and high insulation external cladding.

The floor space has also been increased from 997 square metres to 1698 square metres, and customer car parking facilities have almost doubled, and now include electric vehicle points.
‘The store team that were redeployed to other stores in the area following the incident in March look forward to returning to the new store in August and welcoming back valued customers in the local community who have been extremely supportive over the last few months,’ Lidl said in a statement.
The store has been out of service after it was attacked during Storm Emma and looted during blizzard conditions as consumers fear major food shortages.
At the time, Lidl had announced that it already had plans to upgrade the Tallaght store.
