Marks & Spencer Reportedly Close To Opening Its First Limerick Store

The UK-based Marks & Spencer is reportedly close to signing a deal for its first outlet in Limerick, according to the Limerick Leader.

The retailer has announced expansion plans into the Irish market, hoping to launch a number of stores in the country as it expects some 100 of its stores to close across its network.

Expansion

According to M&S’s country manager, Ken Scully, the proposed Limerick outlet will come equipped with food and clothing sections.

“Any big population centres where we are not in at the moment, we would look at trying to get in,” Scully said, originally speaking to the Sunday Independent.

“We want to grow the food business, we think there’s a great opportunity here in Ireland, we think the Irish customers love our food so it's a question of getting the right number of stores and getting them as quickly as we can.”

The group also has plans to open a new store in Waterford.

There is no news of yet as to where the proposed Limerick store will open.
