Minister Creed Announces New Teagasc Authority

Michael Creed, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, has announced the appointment of Eilís O’Connell to the Teagasc Authority.

O’Connell is the Department of Agriculture's assistant secretary, holding the responsibility for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs.

Replacing Brendan Gleeson as the Departmental representative on the Teagasc Authority, O’Connell has served as a civil servant for over 27 years and brings a range of experience to her current role, including previous senior management roles in Human Resources, Corporate Services, Public Procurement and Change Management in both the Department of Defence and the Office of Public Works.

“I look forward to working with Eilís over the coming years," said Liam Herlihy, chairman of Teagasc.

Teagasc also thanked Brendan Gleeson for his contribution while he was a member of the Authority, and wished him well in his new role as Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
