One Week Until Bloom In Phoenix Park

Bord Bia’s Bloom Festival is set to open its gates in the Phoenix Park next week to showcase the best of Irish garden design. Last year the show gardens were visited by a record-breaking 110,000 people over the five days.

One show garden ‘Wellbeing Wetlands, inspired by Ocean Spray from Gardens Now’ show garden is aiming for the gold medal. Home to over 50,000 cranberries, 1,500 shrubs, herbaceous plants and grasses, 20 mature trees and two gardeners, the ‘Wellbeing Wetlands, inspired by Ocean Spray from Gardens Now’ has been created to reflect the wetlands of North America where millions of cranberries grow on long-running vines.

Alan Rudden from Gardens Now said, “This will be Gardens Now’s third year at Bloom and each year we feel that we’re getting closer to the ultimate accolade – a ‘best in class’ gold medal. We worked with Ocean Spray in 2013 and incorporated key elements of the brand’s heritage into the design but this year, we’re taking it to another level.”

Bord Bia’s Bloom opens to the public on Thursday, 29th May and runs until bank holiday Monday, 2nd June.
