Did You Know... Tesco Ireland has chosen not to replace outgoing chairman Tony Keohane? According to the Irish Independent, Keohane, who retired from Tesco in June of this year after a 37-year career at the retailer, was appointed chairperson in recognition of his service to Tesco Ireland, but traditionally the trading businesses within the Tesco group do not have chairmanships.

Did You Know... Keelings Fruit will turn its apples into Monster Apples from October 14th as Halloween creeps closer? Specially designed stickers will give children the chance to decorate Keelings apples with their own spooky monster designs, and fans can share their creations online through the #MonsterApples gallery on Keelings’ Facebook page.

Did You Know... Fuel and convenience brand Topaz has announced a €11.4 million investment by introducing Rocket’s by Eddie Rocket’s to 40 of its forecourts nationwide? The first Rocket’s by Eddie Rocket’s @ Topaz concept has been launched at Topaz in Douglas, Co. Cork and sites at Dublin Port and Brennanstown, Wicklow, while a full rollout is set to take place over a seven-year period.

Did You Know...A student from Dublin has settled a €60,000 personal injuries claims against Dunnes Stores for an undisclosed sum, after being injured by glass she says was in a sauce used to marinate a pork chop? 22-year old Amy Houlden claims she cut the inside of her mouth, and required medical attention and a tetanus shot, reported The Herald.

Did You Know... Craft bakery Krazibaker has launched its first packaged produce for retail; a 317g tin of Irish shortbread (RRP £7/ approximately €9)? The shortbread won a UK Great Taste Award earlier in the year, and is made in Dromore, Northern Ireland, using hand-churned butter from Abernethy Butter, which just gained listing in luxury food retailer The Butler’s Pantry.

Did You Know... Tesco is looking for new nominees to receive financial support from the Tesco Community Fund? So far, more than 3,500 local charities and good causes have shared a donation of €1 million, since the scheme's launch last year. Causes can be nominated for the fund via Tesco’s website here.
