Did You Know... Bord Bia has signed a deal with Chinese ecommerce platform SF Best to create an online ‘shop’ to promote Irish food and drinks? The SFBest site will first focus on premium Irish seafood, and will later include the Kerrygold Dairy Range and drinks. SF Best’s ecommerce business is considered a leader in fresh and frozen imported produce, boasting a turnover of €150 million annually.

Did You Know... Heineken-owned Sol beer has launched its new ‘Sol Search’ search engine, developed with digital agency CKSK? The engine promises to bring users to independent companies when they search for services like pizza delivery, Adworld has reported. It will form part of a wider campaign to promote the brand’s ‘free spirit’ by allowing the consumer to find “ a world beyond the mainstream’.

Did You Know... Toy retailers in the UK have revealed that Star Wars and Thunderbirds are set to top Christmas wish lists this year? The ‘Dreamtoys’ list, which was launched last week, says that with the upcoming Star Wars movie, and the return of Thunderbirds to TV, children are looking to their merchandise for “good play value”. Also featuring on the list is perennial favourite, Lego.

Did You Know... Alltech has released the results of its first Global Craft Beer Survey, revealing the top 10 locations for craft been in the world; which are the USA, the UK, France, Italy, Russia, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and Japan? The survey assessed 128 countries, and also discovered that Oslo in Norway is the most expensive place to buy a beer.

Did You Know... Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork city has won The Great Street Award 2016 at the Urbanism Awards Ceremony in London, which took place last week? The Cork street was the only Irish entrant to this year’s awards, and was praised by the judges for ‘raising the bar’ for the other finalists in London and Liverpool.

Did You Know... Glanbia has teamed up with online retailer Amazon to sell its performance nutrition products via the Wifi-connected Amazon Dash device, which allows consumers to order items with the touch of a button, the Irish Independent has reported? Glanbia's performance nutrition arm posted revenue growth of 3.8% in the first nine months of the year, and this deal is expected to help support that growth.

Did You Know... Following the launch of its 2015 Christmas advertising campaign, Aldi stores are gearing up for the festive season, with approximately three million mince pies, more than 55,000 turkeys, 15 million Brussels sprouts and over 192 tonnes of Irish cheddar cheese expected to be sold? New items to Aldi’s Christmas offering this year include Specially Selected Cooked Canadian Lobster (€8.99 in store from 21st December), Fresh Irish Free Range Goose and Carlingford Lough Oysters.
