Quintessential Brands: Premium Irish Gin Is The Next Step

Quintessential Brands is reportedly planning to make a greater move into the premium Irish gin industry.

Shane Hoyne, marketing director at Quintessential Brands, has told the Irish Independent that the company is seeking to make a greater move into the Irish gin industry.

The company, which owns The Liberties and The Dubliner Irish whiskeys, originally entered the Irish market with its Irish cream liqueur business in Abblyeix before transitioning more towards whiskey.

Top Shelf

The group is now selling Irish whiskey in over 50 countries, 10 of which being recently added this year, however as the group has begun hiring for its new €10 million Dublin 8 distillery and visitor centre, Hoyne said that the next step is a premium Irish gin.

The company is already known for its gin in the UK, which is the company’s largest market, and now Hoyne believes the Irish market deserves top-shelf gin.

"The Irish gin sector has exploded with a load of different gin offerings and some really interesting ways to create gin and has created something different to the UK gins," Hoyne told the Independent.

"We absolutely will be looking at developing an Irish gin once the distillery is up and running. All Irish products should be able to command a premium around the world.”
