BWG Foodservice Posts 'Record' Sales Of Over €100M In 2018

BWG Foodservice has announced record sales of over €100 million for 2018, an increase of 12.5% on the previous period.

The milestone marks the eighth year of consecutive growth for BWG Group’s Foodservice division.

In addition to strong organic growth in sales, the fast growing BWG Foodservice business also completed the acquisition of Corrib Food Products during the period, which will increase its annualised revenues to over €150 million, the foodservice business said in a statement.

The business is now targeting sales of €200 million by 2022 on the back of continued investment in expanding its end-to-end tailored foodservice solutions across ambient, chilled, and frozen.

“Through the support of the wider BWG Group, we now have a market leading foodservice offering that allows us to deliver an extensive range of quality produce at competitive prices, efficiently through our industry leading supply chain,” John Moane, managing director, BWG Wholesale said.

Moane outlined that the provenance of its supply chain has become a key focus of the groups growth strategy.

"Our customers are increasingly passionate about the origin of their food products in line with consumer expectations and in response to this appetite we increased our supply of locally sourced Irish produce by 32 percent in 2018.” He added.

BWG Foodservice serves the island of Ireland from seven strategically placed multi-temperature depots, supported by 22 Value Centres and wholesale branches across the country.

It delivers innovative food solutions comprising over 8,000 SKUs to over 20,000 retailers, caterers, hotels, clubs, restaurants, institutions, health boards, fast food outlets, and publicans.
