Tesco Ireland Completes €2.7m Expansion Of Swords Airside Store

Tesco Ireland has completed the €2.7 million expansion of its Swords Airside store, adding new services for customers in the north Dublin area.

The new store will include an F&F clothing range, as well as a new dedicated Tesco Mobile phone-shop.

The retailer said that the investment has brought the store's total footprint to over 28,000 square feet, which includes 229 free car parking spaces, a dedicated electric car charging point, and a Click & Collect service.

The Airside store first opened in May 2017, and currently employs in the region of 85 staff members.

“Our customers in Swords and the surrounding North Dublin area have welcomed these new services and the store into its community, which opened just three years ago," said Geoff Byrne, chief operating officer at Tesco Ireland.

"We’re very thankful to our colleagues and customers for their patience and support as we all worked to respond to COVID-19, all the time reviewing operations to introduce measures to protect health and safety in line with public health advice," he added.

Local Suppliers

Tesco said that many of the north Dublin store's suppliers hail from the adjoining agriculture communities, such as Country Crest, who supply the retailer with potatoes and onions, and the Foley Brothers and Alan Kelly, who both supply Tesco Swords with tomatoes.
