Ferrero’s Irish arm saw pretax profits jump by 34% last year, according to IrishTimes.com. The company recorded a profit of €2.76 million for the year ending on 3 August, 2015, versus the €2.05 million profit from the previous year.

Roughly half of the State's €10 billon food and drink exports went to the UK last year according to an estimate made by the Department of Agriculture. Farming lobby groups are calling on the Government to come up with a clear plan that will cope with the fallout from Brexit to protect the Republic's €5 billion food trade with the UK, according to Irishtimes.com

Milk processors have created a milk price index for Ireland, which will create a milk futures market for Irish dairy farmers, according to Irishexminer.com. The milk price index will be revealed in either July or August, after having been developed since May of 2014.

The Irish Farmers Assocation is ramping up its campaign aimed at relieving the income pressure being felt by Irish farmers, reports Irishexaminer.com. The campaign discusses issues such as enhanced direct payments, low cost short-term loans and the abolition of EU import tariffs on fertiliser.

Nohoval Drink company has signed a five- year contract for the supply of Finnbarra Irish Craft Cider to Carlsberg subsidiary, House of Beer, in France, according DrinksIndustryIreland.ie. The Cork-base company’s Finnbarra Irish Craft Cider will now be sold and distributed throughout France.

Dunnes Stores has been named as sponsor for Small Producer of the Year Award of the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards this year, according to wexfordpeople.ie? The awards are open to food manufacturers throughout both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Thomastown School of Food, financially supported by SuperValu, will unveil its newly designed 'Market Garden' on 2 July with an open day between 11am and 3pm, at the Community Garden Site in Thomastown Co. Kilkenny, reports TippTatler.ie. Visitors will be able to enjoy themed walks, willow workshops and seed workshops throughout the day.
