Chambers Ireland deputy CEO Sean Murphy has been named as the new deputy chief executive at Retail Excellence Ireland (REI). Murphy is due to take up the new role in August, and as part of his remit, he will oversee public affairs and media matters for the group.
In a statement, REI chief executive David Fitzsimons said" "Sean is a consummate public affairs negotiator and media performer. Sean will bring a wealth of experience to REI and will positively impact on our public affairs agenda including the major issues of the day impacting the Retail Industry and the many other issues impacting each retail sector – such as food, grocery, alcohol, pharmacy, fashion, town centres et al."
Murphy has been at Chambers Ireland since November 2004. He holds an honours MA in Politics from UCD, a Certificate in Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley’s Extension school and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Irish Management Institute.
"I am personally delighted that Sean has chosen to come work with REI," Fitzsimons added. "The appointment will place retail to the fore in Government.
