C&C Group has announced that Anthony Smurfit retired from its Board as of yesterday, March 23.
Smurfit served on both the Board of Directors and on the Audit Committee since April 2012, and according to a statement from C&C, will now focus on his work as CEO of packaging firm Smurfit Kappa Group.
C&C Chairman, Sir Brian Stewart commented, “On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Tony for his service to C&C Group over the past four years.
“Tony has made a significant contribution to the Board but his decision to step down is understandable given his singular focus on his new role as Chief Executive Officer of Smurfit Kappa Group. We wish Tony well for the future.”
