SuperValu Forecasts Carrot Sales To Reach €8m

SuperValu announced today (23 August) that it expects to sell €8 million in home grown carrots, this year.

The Irish retailer has sourced its carrots from fifth-generation Kilkenny family farmers, TJ, Tommy and James O’Shea since 1981 and the home grown vegetables are 100% Bord Bia assured.

“Our long-standing partnership with O’Shea Farms has allowed us to give shoppers the very best in locally sourced fresh Irish produce, and we will continue to leverage this relationship as we drive our strategy of fresh food leadership.” Martin Kelleher, managing director, SuperValu said.

TJ O’Shea said that the carrots are harvested every morning at 5am, washed, cooled, packing and dispatched on the very same day as intake.

"As a result, when you buy our carrots at SuperValu, you can be assured that you are putting the best Irish produce on the dinner table.” He added.
