Teeling Whiskey Distillery Tours Generates Almost €9M Since 2015

Tours of the Teeling Whiskey distillery has reportedly generated almost €9 million in revenue since it opened its doors in the Dublin Liberties in Dublin in 2015.

At the time of the opening it is believed that the Teeling Whiskey Company invested in the region of €10 million and the visitor centre was the first of its kind in the capital in 125 years.

The distillery which is based in the Liberties in Dublin city, has attracted more than 300,000 visitors over the past three years, reports the Irish Times.

Speaking with the Irish Times, its founder Jack Teeling said: “It’s been another bumper year for visitors,” he said. “We had 125,000 last year and we’re hoping to build on that, with growth of around 10-15 per cent this year.”

Gibbons added: “In the short time since its inception, the [Teeling] distillery has established itself as an important attraction for visitors to Dublin and has been nominated for Europe’s Leading Distillery Tour at the World Travel Awards as well as claiming many other accolades.”

New Release

Teeling said it was now at an “exciting stage” of its development with the first batch of Irish whiskey (three years and a day old) to mature at the distillery which will be released in August this year.

The new batch is believed to be comprised of 250 bottles, with a commercial release to follow in October, with bottles priced at more than €60.

Teeling is reportedly planning to host a number of events, overed the forthcoming months called 'Dublin Rising', at the distillery to mark the distillerys thrid birthday such as a pop-up exhibition 'celebrating some of the local collaborations the company has been involved in over the past few years'.

The Teeling Whiskey Company was founded in 2012 by Jack Teeling – now managing director – with the aim of reviving his family’s trademark Irish whiskey and bring distilling back to Dublin, where Walter Teeling had a distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the 18th century.
