Brady Family Ham Wins Two Awards At IQFAs

Brady Family Ham scooped a total of two awards at the recent Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards (IQFAs) 2017, which took play at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.

The traditional deli ham producer scooped the ‘Gold Q’ award, for its Brady Family Turf Smoked Ham.

The award winning ham which is available in selected SuperValu and Tesco stores nationwide is double smoked using Bord na Móna turf, once pre-cooking and a second time when cooked.

The IQFAs is open to all retailers, producers and manufacturers that sell product within the Irish market.

The awards are judged by 'leading experts in their field' with each marked on its 'taste, flavour, texture, aroma, ingredients list, innovation, packaging, presentation and price point'.

Commenting on the awards, John O’Brien, Managing Director at O’Brien Fine Foods, said, “The success of this product is in no small part due to the hard work, dedication and innovation of our team in Timahoe. At Brady Family Ham, we take care to ensure that every product we make remains true to the Brady Family history and heritage."

On the night, O’Brien Fine Foods’ new chicken and turkey brand, Homebird, also won an award in the ‘Best Precooked Meats: Prepacked’ category.
