Cadbury Dairy Milk The Biggest Spender On Outdoor Advertising In May

Cadbury was the biggest spender on outdoor advertising in May, according to the latest Posterwatch report from PML Group.

The chocolate brand looked to promote its new Dairy Milk Puddles range by spending €283k. Cadbury finished ahead of 7Up, who launched its new 440ml 7Up Free can, which accounted for €132k worth of spend, and Pepsi Max Cherry, which accounted for €128k.

Other big spenders during May included Walkers Crisps (€123k worth of spend), J2O(€106k worth of spend), Brennans Be Good and Wrigley’s (both with €101k worth of spend).

In terms of categories, the Telecoms category accounted for the highest level of Outdoor spend for the month, ahead of Beers & Ciders which had the second highest spend for the second month running.

The biggest spenders in telecoms were UPC Broadband, whose campaign accounted for €703k worth of spend, Vodafone 4G, which accounted for €611k worth of spend, and Sky Fibre (€232k).

According to the report, the spend by the likes of Sky, Vodafone and UPC meant the spend in the telecoms category was up 110% on the same period in 2014. Diageo was the top spending advertiser for the second month running thanks to a variety of campaigns for Carlsberg, Smirnoff, Kronenbourg and Smithwick’s.
