Cork-Based Dee’s Wholefoods Wins PETA Vegan Food Award

Dee’s Wholefoods from Cork, has been named as a winner at the PETAVegan Food Awards 2014. The company won gold in the Best Vegan Sausage category, with its Dee’s Traditional Vegan Sausage.

Dee Collins, founder of Dee’s Wholefoods said, “I'm thrilled to win this award. I spent two years developing a delicious vegan sausage that is loved not only by vegans but by meat-eaters too.”

Mimi Bekhechi of PETA says, “PETA's winners are the perfect example of how today's businesses – from the finest hotels to the price-conscious supermarket – are meeting the demand for food that's healthy, humane and eco-friendly.”

Demand for vegan goods in the UK has increased in recent years, with the non-dairy milk market growing by as much as 155% in just two years.
