Gillette recently announced a global multi-year licensing partnership with the UEFA Champions League.
“Partnering with a global brand presents many benefits and opportunities for UEFA and we are excited to see what the next few years hold, said Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Marketing Director.
The partnership marks half a century since Gillette’s first official football collaboration back in 1970 and is the company’s first licensing agreement with UEFA in respect of the UEFA Champions League, the male grooming brand highlighted in a statement.
The licensing partnership will be brought to life through a range of initiatives to complement the official licensed products, including, providing opportunities to win prizes and experiences that 'get viewers closer to the best of the action that the world’s best club football competition has to offer'.
"The UEFA Champions League is the pinnacle of club football, where the best of the best come together to compete for the ultimate prize," said Gary Coombe, chief executive officer, Gillette.
"We have so many shared values – respect, integrity, fair play and a desire to compete and perform at the very highest level. It is the perfect platform for us to connect with consumers all around the world.”
The Licensing Partnership will include a range of bespoke razors (and other shaving products), packaging and instore displays, as well as ticket and merchandising promotions which will allow Gillette to reward consumers, both through retail partners and on their own platforms.
