Green Isle Foods Announces €30m Investment

Green Isle Foods, part of the 2 Sisters Food Group, has announced it is to make a significant investment of €30m across its operations in Ireland, creating 115 jobs over the next five years.

The investment will lead to 50 jobs being created at its pizza production facility in Longford, and a further 65 jobs at its pastry production plant in Portumna. The investment programme was supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.

“Green Isle Foods is a company of ambition operating in what are exceptionally competitive markets," said Eddie Power, Managing Director of Green Isle. "It is critical that we have well invested facilities to ensure that we compete and win on both national and international stages. This investment programme increases our capacity and extends our product offering and secures access to a wider range of international markets.”

Commenting on the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said the food sector was one "which provides employment in towns and villages right across the country, and that is why we targeted this area for particular support as part of our Action Plan for Jobs."
