GSK Announces Support For Irish Hospice Foundation

GSK has announced that the Irish Hospice Foundation will be its GSK Charity of the Year for 2014 and 2015, with a minimum donation of €50,000 set to be donated to the charity over the next two years.

In addition, GSK employees will undertake a number of fundraising events to raise extra funds for the charity; chief among these is the ‘GSK Wheelie Good Cause’, which takes place in Sligo on 20th September.

“We are delighted to be supporting the Irish Hospice Foundation in carrying out their much needed service and advocacy work and look forward to partnering with them on a number of events and employee engagement programmes over the next two years," said Jacinta Collins, Communications Director for GSK in Ireland.

"As a science-led healthcare company, we have huge potential to improve Irish people’s health and well-being. Our ‘charity of the year’ initiative is just one way we focus on doing the right thing, putting patients first, supporting a healthy Ireland and making a difference to the communities we work in.”

Sharon Foley, CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation added that the charity is looking forward to a "fruitful partnership that will ideally help us both achieve our goals between now and the end of next year.”
