Ireland's 'Newest Millionaires' Claims €88.5m EuroMillions Jackpot

The syndicate have collected their €88.5m EuroMillions winnings for the National Lottery, HQ, after hitting the jackpot in the Tuesday 24th draw.

The ticket was bought at the Applegreen forecourt service station on the M1 in Lusk, Co. Dublin.

According to a spokeperson for the syndicate, “We are absolutely delighted. We all have bills to pay with mortgages, loans and whatnot so we are looking forward to the financial freedom that comes with a win of this magnitude”.

They discovered about their winnings after one of the members checked the ticket on their smart phone.

"I was aware that the EuroMillions jackpot was won in Ireland so I had to check the ticket straight away. I scanned the ticket on the National Lottery App and a message flashed up which told me that I had to contact the National Lottery. When I checked the numbers, I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it. It was such an incredible feeling,’ they added.

This is the third EuroMillions jackpot win in Ireland in the last twelve months.

Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is an estimated €40 million.
