Nestlé Ireland's KitKat brand has announced the launch of new KitKat Snap & Share, available from mid-August.
Snap & Share is a 170g block in either Milk Chocolate or Cookies & Cream, and is designed so that consumers can easily snap off pieces and share with friends and family.
According to Nestlé, as chocolate blocks tend to appeal to a younger demographic, it will help the brand widen its consumer appeal. As KitKat tends to be seen as a daytime snack, Nestlé also hopes to open up more evening consumption occasions for the brand.
Maria McKenna, Marketing Manager, Nestlé Ireland explains, “In a category that is increasingly challenged by commoditization, this new more indulgent KitKat, coupled with the positioning of meaningful social experiences, drives a higher value perception with consumers and can therefore help the entire category ‘value-up’.”
The product launch will be supported by a media campaign encompassing TV advertising, outdoor posters and ‘Celebrate the Breaks’ marketing activities. It will have a RRP of €3.63.
