UCD graduate, Ashling O'Carroll of Shankhill Dublin, has been named the winner of Propercorn's Institute of Flavour competition.
O'Carroll's 'Twisted Honeycomb' flavour, a blend of honeycomb, sea salt and vanilla sugar, first had got her selected as the Irish finalist for Propercorn's competition, before she went on to overtake competitors from Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.
Co-founder of Propercorn, Cassandra Stavrou commented, "We were totally overwhelmed by the huge range of delicious and inventive flavours submitted as part of our nationwide search. Ashling’s flavour stood out from the very beginning and she is a truly deserving winner.
"We’ll be spending the next few weeks in our kitchen making Twisted Honeycomb a reality and ensuring it’s as good as it can be before it lands on shelves this autumn."
'Twisted Honeycomb' Propercorn will be available in selected Spar, Eurospar, Mace and Londis stores, as well as via Propercorn's website.
