'BoozeDoc' App Launched To Highlight Local Alcohol Offers

Two former KPMG Accountants, Mike Morrissey and David Keenaghan, have launched BoozeDoc, an app aimed at enabling users to see what beer/wine/spirits special offers are available in their local store.

“Research shows that 77% of smartphone owners use their devices during the purchase decision making process, and BoozeDoc allows brands to interrupt that customer decision journey right up to the point of purchase," said BoozeDoc founder David Keenaghan. "We show consumers where they can make savings on their off-trade alcohol purchases at a location convenient to them."

The app lists products according to category, as well as offering tasting notes and a guide to craft beers. It has over 25,000 downloads on Apple and Android since February 2014, the developers say.

“It’s not just all about the price either," said co-founder Mike Morrissey. "We help consumers save time in that BoozeDoc can aid consumers to make decisions about purchases in advance and on-the-go. […] BoozeDoc is about getting the brand the consumer wants at a great price. There is more value in getting a €20 bottle of wine for a tenner rather than a €10 bottle for a fiver."

The app is the first to be published by the company MyDealDoc, which was developed by Keenaghan and Morrissey.
