Glendalough Distillery Records €361,000 Loss

Accounts for Glendalough Irish Whiskey Limited recently filed with the Companies Registration Office have revealed that Glendalough Distillery made a loss of over €361,000 during the 15 months that ended on March 31, 2019.

The company's loss during the period was close to €60,000 larger than the loss it made during the preceding shorter 12 month period, reports The Irish Times.

Acquisition

Mark Anthony Brands International announced on the 12 December last year that it has purchased the remaining shares in Glendalough Distillery, which now gives the company complete ownership of the Irish craft spirits business.

The deal which was reportedly worth in the region of €12 million came three years after the North American private beverage company took an initial 40% stake in the fast-growing distiller.

The Glendalough business continues to operate as a separate company from Mark Anthony Brands International under the leadership of the existing management team, headed by Barry Gallagher and Brian Fagan, who founded the company in 2011.
