Jameson Welcomes 300th Brand Ambassador To Graduate Programme

With the launch of the 2015/16 programme, the Jameson International Graduate Programme officially welcomed its 300th graduate to its global network of Brand Ambassadors.

The graduate programme, established in 1991, has sent over 300 Brand Ambassadors around the globe to support the growth of Jameson Whiskey. As the Irish whiskey market grows, registration for the programme was up 45% this year, while applications rose by 10%.

Conor Timmons, from Cabinteely in Dublin, is the 300th graduate to be recruited and will be heading to Tokyo to support the Marketing and Sales team in promoting Jameson.

Sales of Jameson in Japan have increased 30% this year in comparison to last year, with sales reaching over 17,000 cases (equalling 204,000 bottles) per year.

Conor is one of 23 graduates; including two Distiller Graduates, who were chosen as part of this year’s programme. The remaining graduates will be sent to different global markets to work with local brand and sales teams in driving marketing activity.

Graduate Programme Manager, Sinead D’Arcy, commented, “Our brand ambassadors are at the coal-face of our international growth, driving brand awareness while developing their own skill set through the programmes award winning training and development offering.”

She also noted that “over 50% of the Dublin based International Marketing team in Irish Distillers launched their careers through the programme including Simon Fay, International Marketing Director".
