O’Hara’s Launches First Seasonal Brew Of 2016 With Notorious IPA

O’Hara’s Brewery has launched a limited edition Red IPA called Notorious. It is the first of six seasonal beers the brewery will release this year to celebrate its 20th year in business.

Notorious combines six different types of speciality malt and five different hop varieties to produce a copper-red ale with a white head.

The Red IPA is said to smell of floral and citrus tones, with hints of black pepper, toffee and caramel.

In terms of flavour, the taste of caramel with biscuity undertones is said to hit first, before a hoppy bitterness arises, finishing with orange citrus and pine.

According to the brewery, Notorious goes well with roasted meats and rich stews, while also complimenting Italian flavours, making it an ideal accompaniment for pasta, pizzas, and anything served with tomato sauce. It is also said to pair well with cheese boards, especially smoked cheddars and tangy blue cheeses.

Notorious will feature at this weekend’s Alltech Craft Brews & Food Fair (February 5th to 7th) in the Convention Centre in Dublin.
