Spanish Embassy Announces Wines From Spain Fair

The Spanish Embassy has announced that the 'Wines from Spain' fair is set to take place at the Shelbourne Hotel on October 4.

A masterclasses with Audrey Doré, Sommelier at El Celler de Can Roca Restaurant will be offered. The restaurant was labelled as the best in the world by Restaurant magazine. Visitors will also have the chance to attend a wine tasting with wine maker Pablo Calatayud from Celler del Roure and wine expert David B. López.

As a highlight the trade fair features wines from the region of Valencia that currently have no distribution in Ireland. These include wines from the DOs of Valencia, Alicante and Utiel-Requena, the VT Castellón and two Single Estate wines, VPs (Vino De Pago) El Terrazo and Los Balagueses. More than 300 wines from across Spain will be offered this year.

Spain is one of the main wine exporters to Ireland. Irish imports of Spanish wine increased by 25% in value in 2015, the highest rate among all wine exporters.
