Teeling Whiskey has taken top prizes at the World Whiskies Awards and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
At the World Whiskies Awards, Teeling Single Malt was named the ‘World’s Best Irish Single Malt’, while Jack Teeling was awarded the title of ‘World’s Best Whiskey Ambassador’.
The World Whiskey Awards was held in London and saw experts tasting more than 300 whiskeys to find the ‘World’s Best’.
Teeling Whiskey Small Batch took the prize for ‘Best Blended Irish Whiskey’ at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition, where the Teeling Whiskey Company also won gold medals for its Single Grain and Single Malt whiskies.
Jack Teeling commented on the wins, saying, “Over the past three years, Teeling Whiskey has been embraced both in Ireland and across the world in over 35 export markets. We are extremely proud of the whiskeys we have produced to date and it is an honour for our whiskeys to be recognised as the world’s best in these two competitions.”
The awards come as the whiskey company prepares to open its new distillery and visitor centre in The Liberties area of Dublin to the public in May 2015. This will be first new distillery in Dublin city for 125 years.
