Spanish wine brand Bodegas Torres has been voted the world's 'Most Admired Wine Brand', in an annual ranking of the world's best loved wines by Drinks International.
The ranking is complied from a survey of more than 200 international buyers, sommeliers, journalists and masters of wine, who were asked to consider criteria such as provenance, quality, marketing and its target audience.
Torres is the the first Spanish winery, as well as the first European winery to achieve this honour.
Commenting on the award, general manager Miguel Torres Maczassek, 5th generation of the Torres family, said: "My father has been crucial during the past decades guiding the winery towards higher levels of quality, as well as promoting our single-vineyard (Finca) wines. Every wine we produce is an individual wine.
"For us the Torres brand is a statement of quality: we do not change our wines because of short-term trends in the market, we focus on a long-term relationship with our consumers based on quality and consistency.”
