Aldi has announced its Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged Black Angus Ribeye Steak, has recently received three-star accreditation at the 2021 International Taste Institute Awards, for the fourth year in a row.
Last year, Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Black Angus Rib Eye Steak was also awarded the Crystal status by the international panel of judges, having won three stars three years in a row.
With this year's win, the product it closer to achieving the Diamond Award, which is awarded when a product receives three stars in seven out of 10 years, the discounter said.
"This is a huge honour for Aldi and ABP and we are very proud to have these products exclusively on the shelves in all 145 Aldi stores nationwide,” said John Curtain, Aldi group buying director.
Aldi said 11 of its beef products were entered into the awards with all 11 recognised for their superior quality and taste by the International Taste Institute.
This was the most accolades won by an Irish supermarket at the awards demonstrating the superior quality of Irish Bord Bia Assured beef available to Aldi shoppers on a weekly basis, it added.
Independently judged by some of the best chefs and sommeliers in the world, the awards serve to recognise the highest quality food and drinks products on the market today.
