Keelings Harvests First Pepper Crop

Fruit and veg producer Keelings has harvested its first crop of Irish green peppers this season at its 3.8 hectare greenhouse in Dublin, which produces 1,500 tonnes of peppers each year.

Keelings peppers account for around 90% of Irish grown peppers and are expected to be available from now until November.

Managing director David Keeling said, “The overall aim of supplying these vegetables is to provide Irish consumers with Irish produce. Consumers want to buy local and Keelings are doing their best to meet consumer demand by growing what we can on our farms.”

Keelings claim that its peppers are at least two days fresher than those imported from Europe.
