The National Dairy Council (NCD) has announced a new Irish cheese recipe competition. It is inviting entries to create an original recipe using cheese as the main ingredient.

The NDC has secured a host of celebrity chefs to judge the competition such as Irish Chef Clodagh McKenna, Irish Olympian and food author Derval O’Rourke and Vanessa Greenwood of Cooks Academy in Dublin.

There are two categories for entering a recipe:

Firstly, Cooks and Foodies – A healthy and nutritious family style recipe that you might cook mid-week. The prize in this category is a cooking holiday in Tuscany including flights from Dublin and accommodation for two people plus professional kitchen equipment to the value of €500.

Secondly, Trainee Chefs/Culinary Students – A special occasion recipe that you might cook for a dinner party or celebratory occasion. The prize in this category is a professional cooking holiday in Tuscany including flights from Dublin and accommodation for two people plus attendance at a special Cheese Symposium in Brussels on 7th and 8th June.
