Tesco Ireland Takes Home Prestigious Monde Awards For Its Finest* Steaks

Tesco Ireland has announced that it has received a number of top gongs at the Monde Selection awards in Belgium.

The 2023 edition of the annual ceremony took place on 5 June, in Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher’s, a Brussels-based hotel.

The retailer took home gold awards for its Finest* Certified Irish Angus Striploin Steaks, its Finest* Certified Irish Angus Ribeye Steaks, and its Finest* Certified Irish Angus Sirloin Steaks, while its Finest* Certified Irish Angus Fillet Steak was awarded silver.

Commenting on the awards, John Brennan, category director, fresh food, Tesco Ireland, said, “To win a gold medal in the Monde Selection is a huge mark of appreciation, respect, and accreditation for your product.

“We are delighted that our Finest* steak products have been recognised by Monde.”

The Monde Selection, also known as the World Quality Selections, is a global leader in ‘evaluating the quality of consumer products’.

‘Outstanding Products’

Tesco noted that awards are given to products that are outstanding, in terms of both quality and taste, and they must pass strict evaluation procedures and uphold stringent standards.

Monde Selection ‘rewards the effort of companies that distinguish themselves by the quality of their products’.

The jury is comprised of independent international experts in their own fields, including flavour technologists, Michelin-starred chefs, and professional food critics.
