Ardagh Group Announces Packaging Agreement With Mountain Valley Spring Water

US mineral water brand Mountain Valley Spring have a new packaging agreement with Ardagh Group who announced the plan to produce glass bottles instead of plastic.

According to the statement, glass is an ideal choice for water bottle brands as consumers consider it to be premium packaging material.

There was a 20% increase in bottled water products launched in glass in the US between 2017 and 2018, according to Mintel Global New Products Database.

"After spending more than 3,500 years on its journey from the source, Mountain Valley Spring Water is committed to keeping its spring water pure, flowing and sustainable," said Stephan Williams, director corporate marketing, Mountain Valley Spring Water.

Global Concern

Environmental responsibility is a global concern that's becoming increasingly popular among consumers.

The commitment the company has to sustainable practices is one of the driving forces in expanding the glass water bottle market, it reveals.

“This line of glass bottles, known for its protective qualities and environmental distinction, is the ideal packaging choice for today’s environmentally-conscious consumer,” said John T Shaddox, chief commercial officer, North America's glass division, Ardagh Group.

Glass bottles are 100% recyclable and can be recycled without an loss in quality or purity.
