Smurfit Kappa has been ranked number one in the forestry, paper and packaging sector for ‘Best CEO’, ‘Best CFO’ and ‘Best Investor Relations’.
This is the second consecutive year Smurfit Kappa has won these awards, and this year it also received first place for “Best IR Professional’.
Extel Awards
The awards were issued out by Extel, the foremost independent evaluation of quality across the European equities investment industry.
The group gives annual rankings of Europe’s leading executive teams based on the views of investment professionals. This year over 11,333 investment professionals from across 2,682 buy-side firms, 241 sell-side and 1,099 corporates contributed to the awards.

Smurfit Kappa has had an incredibly busy start to the year, with US firm International Paper attempting to acquire the company on three counts. During which the group has seen its share spike to record highs only to fall from grace the following week.
